Chris Blackman

Chris Blackman is an award-winning broadcast veteran with over 30-years of experience as a writer, producer, and news executive. Before starting Blackman Media Consulting in 2012, he ran the news operation at NBC Philadelphia for 12-years as Vice President of News.

Prior to NBC Philadelphia, Chris spent 4 ½ years as Vice President of News and Programming at CNBC Asia in Hong Kong and Singapore. His accomplishments include two Midwest Emmy awards for news writing, an Asian Television Award for programming, and being named one of FTV’s “Top 10 Best People in TV News” in 2010.

Chris has mentored and helped develop top talent including NBC White House Correspondent Kristen Welker, former ABC News/CNBC Correspondent Aditi Roy, E! News host Lilliana Vazquez and NBC Philadelphia’s Rosemary Connors and Keith Jones.

Chris earned a B.A. in Communications from Stanford University and studied at the University of Paris/Sorbonne. He is fluent in French and has a working knowledge of Spanish. He and his wife live in suburban Philadelphia with their two children.

Keith Blackman

Keith Blackman has over 20 years’ experience in network television news, media relations, message development, and media training. He works with a diverse range of clients helping to craft messages that resonate with their target audiences. Clients with whom Keith has worked include Bank of America, AARP, Hormel Foods, Purpose Built Communities, United Negro College Fund, AstraZeneca, Ford Motor Company, Special Olympics, Blue Star Families, Accenture, and FedEx.

Keith spent ten years as a producer for NBC News Washington where he was responsible for gathering story elements and cutting news and feature packages for NBC’s TODAY show, NBC’s Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, and various MSNBC programs. Keith also served as a White House producer overseeing planning for NBC’s coverage of presidential trips and events, both in the U.S. and abroad. ​ 

Keith is a highly regarded media and presentation trainer and works with a wide range of spokespersons, including C-Suite executives, on honing and improving interview skills and techniques for media interviews, panel discussions, and presentations. Keith also provides communications and media training in group settings working with employees to improve communications skills and techniques.  He has worked with group managers at Hormel Foods on communicating in a crisis, executives at Purpose Built Communities on communicating the organization’s mission of urban revitalization, and most recently, State Department foreign service officers prior to their departure for overseas postings. 

Keith was born in Sekondi, Ghana, and grew up in New York City and Barbados. He is a graduate of Stanford University where he earned a B.A. in Film & Broadcasting and holds a J.D. from UCLA Law School.
